Digoski, Walter C. (January 9, 1924 - July 12, 2007)

Walter C. Digoski, age 83, of Neillsville, formerly of Willard, died Thursday, July 12, 2007 at the Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville, Wis.

Walter C. Digoski was born on January 9, 1924 in Willard, the son of Paul and Josephine (Morris) Digoski. He attended school in Willard and then farmed with his family. On April 17, 1945 he enlisted into the United States Army, serving in World War II. He was honorably discharged on January 14, 1947. Walt was united in marriage to Bertha (Hebert) McCann on September 15, 1951 at the Corpus Christie Church in Bakerville, WI. They had one son, Tim. Walt worked as an auctioneer and Real Estate Broker in the surrounding area. Bertha died July 26, 1980. Tim died on May 20, 1998.

Walt was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard and a member of the Haugen-Richmond American Legion Post #73 in Neillsville, Wis.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews and a daughter-in-law, Jeanette (Richard) Jonas of Chili, WI.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha; a son, Tim; his parents; three sisters, Elizabeth Digoski in infancy; Caroline Przybylski and Frances Moore; and three brothers, Peter, John and Joseph.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Walt was held Monday, July 16, 2007 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. The Celebrant was Fr. Joseph Follmar. Music was provided by Judy Coughlin, organist and the Holy Family Choir. Interment was in the Town of Lynn Cemetery, with Military Rites accorded by the Neillsville Veterans Council.

Casket bearers were: Dan Coughlin, Richard Jonas, Larry Jensen, Tom Moore, Charles Przybylski and Chester Przybylski.

The Gesche Funeral Home assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
