Schneider, Anna Annetta(15 May 1913 - 16 Jul 2007)

Anna A. Schneider, 94, Greenwood, died Monday, July 16th, 2007 at the Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville, Wis.

Visitation was held at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until time of the service.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 20th, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, rural Greenwood with the Reverend Mark Schwinn presiding. Burial was in the Greenwood City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Paul, Christopher, Matthew, Nathan, Scott and Kendrick Schneider.

Anna Annetta Buss was born on May 15th, 1913, in the Town of Green Grove, Clark County, WI, to Emil and Elizabeth (Buss) Buss.

She was raised on the family farm near Owen and received her education at Midway School in the Town of Hoard.

Anna was united in marriage on April 10th, 1934 to Robert Schneider at the Curtiss Reformed Church with Reverend H. K. Martin officiating.

Anna and Robert resided in Greenwood where she was a homemaker and raised her six sons. She also worked for the telephone company in Greenwood as a switchboard operator, a cook and waitress at the Greenwood Café and a cook at the Black River View Apartments in Greenwood.

Her husband Robert died on June 20th, 1982. Anna continued to reside in Greenwood until the time of her death.

Anna was a member of the former Zion United Church of Christ and a present member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, where she was active in the Ladies Guild and was a Sunday school teacher. Anna also served as a Boy Scout parent/leader in Greenwood.

Anna had many interests, but especially enjoyed going to the cabin in Park Falls, gardening, traveling, quilting, knitting and crocheting hats, mittens and afghans for relatives, nursing homes, youth homes and for anyone who was in need.

She will be sadly missed by her six sons, Allan of Greenwood, Robert (Elida) of Stoughton, David (Beth) of Wasilla, AK, Tom (Sue) of Queensland, Townsville, Australia, Jerry (Jana) of Rice Lake and John (Lori) of Greenwood; nine grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda (Rueben) Hill of Owen and Elda Burtard of Owen; two sisters-in-law, Gertrude Buss of Owen and Florence Schneider of Colby; numerous nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert; two sisters, Emma Haemer and Minnie Schneider and one brother, Henry Buss.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given in her name to Immanuel United Church of Christ or the American Cancer Society.

Cuddie Funeral Home of Greenwood assisted the family with arrangements.
