Panke, Henrietta (1 Jan. 1850 - 20 Nov. 1933)

Mrs. Fred Panke passed away Monday evening at 7:25, a stroke of paralysis sustained four days previously being the cause of her departure to the distant shore. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the St. John’s Ev. church in Colby, Rev. G. F. Hahn officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby cemetery.

The deceased was born in Gross Zarken, East Prussia, Germany, January 1st, 1850, thus reaching the age of eighty-three years, ten months and twenty days. She was married to Fred Panke on Sept. 17, 1882, at Liebenmuehlen, East Prussia, and came to the United States Nov. 11, 188?, thus being numbered among our early settlers.

Besides her husband the deceased is survived by two children - Frank Panke of Park Falls, Wis., and Mrs. Paul Draeger of Colby. Also ten grand children.

The deceased was a good Christian, a charter member of St. John’s Ev. church and always faithfully performed her duties. She was kind and gentle in her ways, easily made friends and never forgot the hospitable ways of the early pioneers.
