Nowicki, Rita Alice (Marriage - 20 Oct. 1973)

On Saturday, Oct. 20, during a 4 p.m. ceremony, Dennis C. Karnopp took as his wife Miss Rita Alice Nowicki.

The daughter ot the late Vilas Nowicki, Chippewa Falls, was given in marriage by her uncle William Przybylski, to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Karnopp, 200 N. Boardman St. Thorp. The Rev. Will Grelle and the Rev. Robert Olson solemnized the vows of the couple in St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Thorp, while Thomas Zepaltas provided organ accompaniment for Misses Diane, Debbie and Donna Zepaltas.

For the occasion the bride chose a gown of white satin and lace. A satin bow secured her floor-length veil and she carried a cascade of white and yellow roses.

Her maid of honor was Miss Lynn Karnopp, Loyal, and her bridesmaids were Miss Violet Nowicki of Altoona, Miss Kimberly Harrington, Chippewa Falls, and Mrs. Frank Harycki, Thorp. They were attired in rust velour dresses and carried colonial bouquets of orange and yellow roses. Diane Wildung, Winfred, Mont., was flower girl.

Duties of best man were performed by Jim Albert, Thorp, with assistance from Edward Asselin of Thorp, Henry Buzinski, Withee, and William Schultz, Genoa City, groomsmen. Steven Nowicki, Chester Przybylski, Jr., and Frank Harycki seated the guests for the ceremony.

Following the rites a reception and evening meal were held at St. Hedwig’s Quonset Hall in Thorp.

The new Mrs. Karnopp is a 1970 graduate of Thorp High School and has been employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Chippewa Falls. Her husband received his degree in 1973 from the University of Wisconsin - Stout, Menomonie, and is a distributive education coordinator for Watertown Senior High School in Watertown.

The couple resides at 506 ½ Division St., Watertown.
