Hoops, Frieda (3 Mar. 1896 - 20 Oct. 1987)

Spencer, Wis. - Frieda A. Hoops, 91, died Tuesday at the Colonial House Living Center, Colby.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. The Rev. William Ruhbusch will officiate and burial will be in the West Spener Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday at the Rux Funeral Home, Spencer.

She was born March 3, 1896, in the town of Spencer to the late Wenzel and Amelia Huber. She was married to Martin A. Hoops Sept. 3, 1914, at Trinity Lutheran Church. They farmed in the Spencer area until retiring in 1960. Mr. Hoops died July 8, 1973. She has resided at the Living Center for the past 1 ½ years.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Irene Heckel of Chili; two sons, Verlyn of Spencer and Elmer of LaGrange, Texas; two brothers, Arthur and Ted Huber, both of Spencer; three sisters, Ada Taylor of Owen; and Vera Mellenthin and Ella Matter, both of Spencer; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granchildren.

Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by a son, two brothers and a sister.
