Funeral services were held Monday for Russell A. Gehrke, 23, who died December 26, after an illness of four years. Burial was made in Adams County.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Gehrke, Russell, was born Febrary 19, 1918, in the town of Hixon, Clark County, and was a resident of the county for most of his 23 years. Besides his parents, those surviving are: six brothers, Lewis of Withee, Paul of Nekoosa, Donald and Alfred, Hancock, and Julius and Allen at home; and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Holmes of Plainfield, and Mrs. Grace Boyles, of Hancock.

Pallbearers for the funeral were: Carl and Leo Roehl, Walter and Harold Hillert, Gerald Nelson and Elton Schmidtke.

Lorna Lindow is working at the Otto Rusch home.

Gerald Nelson is helping with the chores at the Wesley Hayden farm during Mr. Hayden’s absence.
