Wetzel, Evelyn (Marriage - 1 Feb. 1942)

Miss Evelyn Wetzel, Neillsville, and Sgt. Oscar H. Walk, Savanna, Ill., were united in marriage at nine a.m. February first at Belvidere, Ill., in a single ring ceremony which took place at the Lutheran parsonage in that city.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Wetzel of Pine Valley. She was graduated from the Neillsville High School where she fitted herself for clerical work. Later, she took the teachers training, course in the Clark County normal. She taught successfully in the rural districts of the county for several years. Recently she has been employed by the Neillsville Production Credit association, proving herself capable and thoroughly efficient in each of these professions.

Mr. Walk is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Walk of this city. He was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army service November 26th and had since been employed as a fire chief in the Savanna Ground, Ill. He was re-called into the army for active duty last week. The couple returned to Neillsville Monday.

Mr. Walk left for Fort Sheridan, Ill., Tuesday, his wife returning to her work here Wednesday.

Gilbert Susa, son of Mrs. Lydia Susa, Loyal, left Saturday for Milwaukee and on Monday he started for San Diego, Calif., the young man having enlisted in the Marines.
