Hastreiter, Helen (3 AUG 1937)

The wedding of Mr. Harry Meske, son of Mrs. Martha Meske, and Miss Helen Hastreiter, daughter of Mrs. Jos. Hastreiter, was solemnized at nine o’clock mass at St. Bernard’s Church Tuesday morning last. Rev. A.M. Muckerheide officiated and the choir of St. Hedwig’s Church sang. Bernard Hastreiter, brother of the bride, acted as usher. The couple was attended by the bride’s brother, Gordon Hastreiter, as best man and Miss Marie Woeber of Davenport, Ia, was bridesmaid. She was attired in blue organza with gloves to match, with headband of pink gardenias. The maid of honor, Miss Theresa Hastreiter, sister of the bride, wore a pink sheer striped satin dress and a headband of silver with matched accessories and carried roses, blue delphinium and baby breath.

The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Louis Hastreiter of Marshfield. She was beautifully attired in a gown of white brocaded satin and wore a coronation style veil with train and carried a bouquet of gardenias, white roses and forget-me-nots. For jewelry she wore a gold cross with chain, a gift of the groom.

The groom and best man wore oxford grey coats and white trousers.

The wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride’s mother, where the many guests gathered for reception of the couple. Festivities continued throughout the day and a wedding dance was given at Mileaway pavilion in the evening.

The newlyweds will spend their honeymoon on a trip to Yellowstone Park, after which they will be at home to their many friends in Thorp were the groom is engaged in teaching school. The "Courier" joins in extending congratulations.
