Solvrud, Oscar A. (23 MAR 1876 - 9 OCT 1937)

Oscar A. Solvrud, former resident of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), died at his home at Stanley on Saturday evening after a lingering illness.

Mr. Solvrud was born in Scandinavia, Waupaca Co., Wis. on March 23, 1876. On Oct. 9, 1899, he was united in marriage to Miss Amanda Gullickson, they being married thirty-eight years the day of his death. They resided at Iola, Wis. until 1910, when they came to Thorp. Mr. Solvrud operated a meat market and was engaged in the cattle business here until the family moved to Stanley in 1932, where they have made their home since.

He is survived by his wife and one son, Montell, of Chicago, three sisters, Mrs. L.B. Smith, Waupaca, Mrs. Ella Swendson, St. Paul, Mrs. Clara Warren, Milwaukee, and one brother, Robert Solvrud of Nelsonville, Wis.

Funeral services were held at the Plombon Funeral Parlors at Stanley Tuesday morning, Rev. Midtlein officiating, and the remains were taken to Amherst for interment in the family lot.
