Dudley, Alice Teressa (2 July 1869 - 28 Feb. 1942)

Eastern Star services were held for Mrs. Arthur Dudley at the Masonic Temple at 2:00 p.m. Monday. Her death occurred on Saturday morning, February 28, after a long illness. The body was interred in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Mrs. Dudley was born in Wrightsville, Wis., July 2, 1869, to Joseph and Jane Reichenbach. Her given name was Alice Teressa. She taught in the schools of Jackson County for five years. Her marriage to Arthur Dudley of Neillsville took place in February, 1893. Mrs. Dudley continuing to teach in Clark County for several years after her marriage.

Two children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Dudley, Harold, who died in infancy, and Francis, Neillsville, who survives his parents. Mrs. Kate Cook, a close friend of the departed, lives in the Dudley house where she makes a home for Francis.

Mrs. Dudley was one of a family of nine children, of whom six survive. They are Joseph and Philhp [Philip] Reichenbach, Mrs. Mathilda Peasley, Miss Jennie Reichenbach and Mrs. Kate Gering, all of Black River Falls, and Theodore, Whitehall. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and other relatives and a host of friends.

Before she was afflicted with illness, Mrs. Dudley was a remarkable woman. She was an accomplished artist, capable of sketching any scene or object which she choose to transfer to canvass. Many of her paintings are cherished possessions of her friends and relatives. She also was a gifted writer of poetry and a great lover of flowers, ever willing and happy to share the choicest plants and shrubs in her garden with others.
