Wiersig, Lena (16 Feb. 1894 - June 1936)

Funeral services for Mrs. Rudolph Wiersig, nee Lena Weber, whose death was chronicled last week, were held Saturday at the home at 1:00 P.M. and at the Zion Lutheran church at 1:30 P.M., Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Frank Ladwig, John Schneider, Carl Meinke, Ervin Weller, Ernest Schmelzer and Julius Kramer. Eveline Wiersig, Ella Wiersig, Anita Runzheimer, Margaret Frank, Esther Weber and Laura Schalow, nieces of the deceased, were in charge of the flowers.

The deceased, who had been ill with cancer at her home in the town of Hull the past six months, reached the age of forty-two years. She was born February 16th, 1894, in the town of McMillan. She was married there June 21, 1913, to Rudolph Wiersig and they located on the latter’s farm in the town of Hull where they have lived since. Surviving are the widower; seven children, Herbert, Renata, Lucinda, Norman, Marina, Arnold and Eldor, all at home; her mother, Mrs. Augusta Weber, town of McMillan; and three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. John Schalow and William, Frank and Charles Weber, town of McMillan, Mrs. Gustav Frank, town of Brighton and Mrs. Frank Wepner, Marion.

The deceased was a good Christian and a faithful member of her church. She was not only faithful to her church, but just as faithful to her family. Social activities of this world did not concern her if she was depended upon in ministering unto or caring for anyone dependent upon her. She was always ready to lend a helping hand in time of need - both in acts of kindness and in words.

Weber and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Weber, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Weber, Mrs. Augusta Weber, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Haas, Mrs. Caroline Haas and children, Herman and Tillie, Mr. and Mrs. August Kloehn and Mrs. Minnie Zimmerling, all of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wepner of Marion, Mrs. Emma Ewert of March Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schalow of Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Schalow of Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kuse and family of Auburndale, Mr. and Mrs. Gust Frank and family and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bruss of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Wiersig of Watertown and Mr. and Mrs. Julius Wiersig and daughter, Selma, of Abbotsford, Wis.
