Rein, Henry (23 July 1872 - 8 June 1937)

Funeral services for Henry Rein, prominent town of Hull store and tavern keeper at Cherokee, who passed away at his home last Wednesday afternoon following a three months illness of cancer, were held at the home and at the M. E. church in Colby Saturday afternoon. Burial was made in the Colby cemetery.

Pallbearers were Carl Reyer, Herman Behrens, Irvin Eggebrecht, Wm. Graumann, Henry Aderhold and Max Heintz. Flower girls were Helen Yost, Vereana Graumann, Mabel Schilling and Dorothy Olson.

The deceased was born at Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, July 23, 1872, reaching the age of sixty-four years, ten months and sixteen days. At the age of six years he came to the town of Hull with his mother and step-father and lived on a farm here until he grew up. On reaching manhood he went north and followed the saw mills, then new to that country. Later he was head sawyer in mills in northern Wisconsin and later at Wausau, Wisconsin. On September 18, 1897, he married Emma Olson at Star Lake. Later the family went to Arbor Vitae, then to Wausau and later they came to the town of Hull where they purchased the property at Cherokee, which they have operated since that time. During the past few years his son, Morris, has been his partner in the business.

He is survived by two sons, Morris and Dean, both of the town of Hull, and one grandson, Dean Rein, Jr. His wife passed away six years ago. He is survived by one brother, George Rein of the town of Hull; two half-sisters, Mrs. Harry Demand, Abbotsford, and Mrs. Herb. Warner, Sayner; two half-brothers, Fred and Ed. Fricke of the town of Hull.

Relatives here for the funeral were Mrs. Herb Warner and daughter, Jane, Sayner; Mr. and Mrs. Hans Osness, Henry Osness, Donald Osness, Mrs. Edgar Buntrock, Alvin Osness, Ole Olson and Edwin Schmidt, Merrill; Mrs. Pete Peterson, and son, Harry, White Lake; Mrs. C. O. Selmer and Mrs. Morris Selmer, Cornell; Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Peterson and son, Arvid, Minneapolis; Harry Demand, Abbotsford; Mrs. Ray Draheim, of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kramer, Miss Esther Fricke and Fred E. Schroeder, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Markow, Medford; Mr. and Mrs. John Seibel, Unity; and the following friends - Mr. and Mrs. Frank Boyack, Schofield, and Mr. and Mrs. William Krause, Wausau.
