Reyer, Madeline Elinor (Marriage - 4 Sept. 1937)

The marriage of Miss Madeline Elinor Reyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Reyer, Colby, to Morris Rein, son the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rein, Colby, took place Saturday afternoon at four o’clock at the home of the bride’s brother in law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Fred M. Distelhorst, Nakoma. The Rev. Paul Nulton, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church in Colby, performed the ceremony, which took place in the sun room where an improvised altar was banked with palms, ferns, fall flowers and lighted tapers.

As Dorothy Distelhorst played the first notes of "The Bridal Chorus" from "Lohengrin," the procession made its way into the sun parlor. The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother, Edward G. Reyer, wore an Empire gown of blue dusk satin with silver accessories and an arm bouquet of Japanese lilies, pink roses and white pom pons.

Mrs. Distelhorst was her sister’s matron of honor. With her rose pink silk lace gown she wore silver accessories and a corsage of Japanese lilies, pink roses and white pom pons. Little Peggy Ann Reyer, four year old niece of the bride, as flower girl, wore a yellow organdie frock and carried rose petals in a tiny basket.

Harold B. Reyer, brother of the bride, was best man.

Following the ceremony a wedding dinner for 22 guests was served at the home, with music preceding and during the dinner furnished by the Rev. and Mrs. Nulton and Beverly Reyer. When the couple left for a trip to Chicago and the East, the bride chose a gray travel suit with matching accessories. After Sept. 20 they will be at home at Cherokee.

Guests at the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Adam Reyer, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Reyer and son, Daniel, Seymour; Mr. and Mrs. Otis H. Reyer and children, Peggy and Thomas, Edward G. Reyer, Terre Haute, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Harold B. Reyer and children, Beverly Mae, Robert, and Nancy Ann, Wauwatosa; Mrs. Rose Omcken, Bellingham, Minn; and Mrs. Paul Nulton, Colby.
