Ewert, Shirley (Marriage - 25 Jan. 1958)

The Rev. George Becker officiated at the marriage ceremonies of Miss Shirley Ewert and Arlyn D. Bruesewitz at St. John’s Catholic Church on Jan. 25.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Ewert, N. Maple Ave., and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Bruesewitz, Unity, route 1.

The bride wore a gown of Chantilly lace over sheer tulle and white slipper satin. The molded bodice was styled with a high neckline and Queen Anne’s collar. The bouffant skirt of sheer tulle had front and back center panels of lace. Her veil of silk illusion was fastened to a half hat trimmed with seed pearls and sequins.

Mrs. Rudy Krajcirik, Mauston, was matron of honor, and the bridesmaids were Miss Diane Ewert and Miss Maxine Ewert. All are sisters of the bride. They wore identical dresses of blue net over taffeta with bolero jackets and matching blue headbands from which short veils were suspended. They carried bouquets of red and white carnations.

Rudy Krajcirik, Mauston, the bride’s brother-in-law, was best man, and groomsmen were Jerry Cramer, Spencer, and Berdell Bruesewitz, Unity.

Dennis Bruesewitz, Unity and Dennis Ewert ushered at the event.

The bride’s bouquet was made of white carnations and red roses in a cascade arrangement.

The bride’s mother wore a dress of teal blue with winter white accessories and a corsage of white carnations and pink rosebuds. The groom’s mother was dressed in navy blue with white accessories and wore a similar corsage.

Following the ceremony breakfast and dinner were served at the home of the bride’s parents and a reception and a supper were held at the Eagle’s hall.

Mrs. Bruesewitz was graduated from Columbus High School and has been employed by the Hub City Jobbing Co. The groom is a graduate of Spencer High School. After a California honeymoon the couple will reside on route 1, Unity, where Mr. Bruesewitz is engaged in farming.

Guests from Chicago, Colby, Spencer, Nekoosa, Mosinee, Abbotsford, Unity and Stratford attended the ceremony.
