Alger, Jay Gilbert (March 4, 1981 - August 31, 2007)

Jay G. Alger, age 26, of Chippewa Falls, formerly of Eau Claire, died on Friday, August 31, 2007 at Sacred Heart Hospital, in Eau Claire.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Thorp Funeral Home Chapel. Fr. Keith Apfelbeck officiated and burial followed in Old St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Allen Alger, Larry Luzinski, Mike Luzinski, Dan Luzinski, Kellie Luzinski, Justin Davis and Jeremy Parrish. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Jay Gilbert Alger was born on March 4, 1981 in Chippewa Falls to Larry G. and Linda C. (Schultz) Alger. He was raised and received his education in Eau Claire, and after completing his schooling, worked in the Eau Claire area.

Jay had many interests, but especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing bingo and cards with his mother.

He is survived by his father, Larry Alger of Eau Claire; one brother, Todd (Elizabeth) Alger of Eau Claire and their children, Sadie and Austin; his paternal grandmother, Wilma Alger of Thorp; one uncle, Allen (Joyce) Alger of Thorp; one aunt, Toni (Larry) Luzinski of Thorp; and five cousins: Jacob and Dennis Alger; Mike (Peggy) Luzinski and their children, Brynn and Kendall; Dan (Tracie) Luzinski and their children, Cora and Wyatt; and Kellie Luzinski.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Alger, on November 8, 2004.
