Strey, Raymond A. (6 OCT 1917 - 27 AUG 2007)

Raymond A. Strey, 89, Marshfield, died on Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Aug. 31, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield. The Rev. Charles D. Stoetzel officiated. Suzanne Golden was the organist for the St. John’s Funeral Choir. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Raymond A. Strey was born on Oct. 6, 1917, in the town of York, to Robert and Anna (nee Thomas) Strey. He graduated from Ramadka School in the town of York. He married Alberta J. Lloyd on May 29, 1948, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield. The Strey’s farmed in the town of Loyal for 41 years. He was employed at Rollohome Corporation, Marshfield, for several years. They moved to Marshfield in 1989.

Survivors include his wife, Alberta; his children, Jean (Joe) Faber, Marshfield, Mike (Vicki) Strey, Wittenberg, Duane (Jeanne) Strey, Granton, Ruth (Dennis) Erickson, Spencer, Terry Strey, Granton, Ronald (Diane) Strey, Marshfield, Daniel (Dawn) Strey, Sheldon, and Margaret Strey, Marshfield; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; and brothers and sisters, Elsie Fricke, Marshfield, Ernie Strey, Necedah, Hazel (Marvin) Seeman, Unity, Helen Domine, Loyal, Eralin Strey, Osseo, Victor Strey, Marshfield, LaVerne Morin, Menomonee Falls, Norma Potter, Marshfield, Carlan (Marge) Strey, Elkhorn, and Robert (Joan) Strey, Franklin.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Memorials may be designated in his name to Ministry Home Hospice Care or to St. John’s Parish.
