Wasserburger, Frank Albert (8 May 1902 - 6 Aug. 1942)

Frank Albert Wasserburger, 40, passed away suddenly at 8:15 p.m. Thursday while he and his son were fishing at Big Eddy north of the city, the victim of a heart attack.

Seated on the bank a short distance up the river, the fourteen year old lad rain to his father’s side after seeing him slump. He placed his head in an elevated position, administered cool water to the temple and performed an act of contrition. Seeing that his efforts were of no avail, he hurried out to the highway where he gave the alarm to Jack Tibbett. Mr. Tibbett went to the victims’ side while the boy hurried home to call a physician and to break the news to his mother. Mr. Wasserburger’s death had evidently taken place within a few seconds after the attack.

Frank Wasserburger was born in Neillsville May 8th, 1902, to Charles and Mary (Zeller) Wasserburger. On the fourth day of September, 1928, he was married to Miss Faye Broiher of Neillsville, Wis. Two sons, Charles Henry and Frank Edward, Jr., were born to them.

Surviving beside the wife and sons are four sisters and two brothers: Kathryn, Neillsville, Mrs. Josephine Sherman, Wausau; Henry, Neillsville; Tillie, Mrs. Millard Chadwick, Greenwood; Clara, Mrs. Carl Kessler, and Leo, Neillsville, Wis.

The parents and two sisters and a brother preceded him in death. Leona, Mrs. Stanley Battersby, Town of Washburn, died twelve years ago; Charles was killed in action during the World War No. 1 and Lula died at the age of five.

Mr. Wasserburger the youngest of the family was a member of the Charles Wasserburger Co., a general merchandising firm. Having been connected with the store and delivery service since boyhood, he became widely known throughout the community. ***Rest cut off***
