Dvorak, Josephine (27 JAN 1877 - 17 NOV 1938)
Mrs. Josephine Dvorak died at her home at Stanley, Thursday morning, Nov. 17, 1938, after an illness of about a year’s duration.
She was born in Bohemia, Jan. 27, 1877. At the age of 11 years, she came to America with her parents and settled at Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). There she was united in marriage to Martin Dvorak, who died several months ago. They went to Stanley to make their home 27 years ago. Mrs. Dvorak was the mother of eight children, the oldest son, Rudolph, having died about 15 years ago, and the surviving children being Mrs. Eva Martin, Wauwatosa; Mrs. Alice Bauer, Ellsworth; Mrs. Leona Mead of Thorp; John of Kelson, Wash.; and Leo, Mrs. Elenore Bourget, and Mary of Stanley. There are seven grandchildren; one brother, Frank Plecity of Gilman, and a sister, Mrs. Henry Klauck of Withee. The funeral was held from St. Mary’s Church, Stanley, of which she was a faithful member during her years of residence there. The service took place on Monday at 9 a.m. with the Rev. Francis Wallace officiating and interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery in that city.
