Gardner, Lucille Edith (Marriage - 20 Dec. 1939)

Miss Lucille Edith Gardner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Gardner, and Donald W. Sommer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Sommer, were married Wednesday, Dec. 20th, at the Trinity Lutheran church at Loyal, Wisconsin, Rev. Langholm reading the marriage ceremony.   Lona Gardner, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Verna Zuege, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by his brother, Vernon Sommer, and his cousin, H. Glenzer. The best man carried the wedding ring.

The bride was attired in a floor length white satin dress with train veil and her bouquet consisted of pink and white carnations. The maid of honor wore a floor length rose moray taffeta dress with wreath to match and her corsage consisted of pink carnations. The bridesmaid wore a floor length blue moray taffeta with a wreath to match and her corsage consisted of pink carnations.

A reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents, the home being nicely decorated with white, rose and blue streamers for the occasion. The newlyweds will be at home at once at Atwood where the groom owns a tavern.
