Carlson, Carol Jean (1 Mar. 1946 - 24 May 2007)

Carol Jean Carlson, 61, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, died May 24, 2007, at Luther Hospital.

She was born on March 1, 1946, in Cherokee, Iowa, the daughter of Martin and Lorena (Ehlers) Carlson. She was raised on the family dairy farm in Owen, Wis. Carol attended Owen-Withee High School, where she created many lifelong friendships. She continued her education at UW-Whitewater. Her career included employment with the town of Washington and with the Private Industry Council in Menomonie; and for the last 10 years, she loved working as a loan officer. Carol was eagerly anticipating her new opportunities with Superior Mortgage.

She was a well-loved and active member of Landmark Christian Church. Her Christian faith was the strength she drew on through the celebrations and challenges of her life. The joy of her life were her granddaughters and nieces and nephews. She was well-known for her quick smile, generous heart and abundant kindness.

Carol is survived by her son, Dan (Gretchen) Zbichorski; grandchildren, Katyana, Alexandra and Elizabeth, all of Shoreview, Minn. She is also survived by her twin brother, Craig (Helen) Carlson of Stanley; sisters, Linda Johnson of Orlando, Fla., and Marlene (Philip) Palser of Eau Claire; nieces and nephews, Dan Lindstrom, Gary (Diane) Johnson, Tessa (Andrew) Damon, Ronna (Roy Bolton) Johnson, Seth (Sarah) Palser, Herbie (Dana) Carlson, Cathy (Jay) Seehaver, Sam Palser and Miranda Palser; great-nieces and nephews, Royce, Clayton, Jackson, Mitchell, Kaitlynn, Alex, Julia, Ian and Addie; and her dearly loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her nephew, Scott; and brother-in-law, Ronald Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2007, at Landmark Christian Church, with the Reverend Brad Crocker officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today and for one hour prior to the service, all at Landmark Christian Church. Burial will be at a later date in Abbotsford Cemetery.
