Kessler, Agnes (22 May 1866 - 1 Oct. 1942)

Mrs. Agnes Kessler, 76, of the town of Weston, passed away during the early hours of Thursday morning, October 1, at the home of her sons, John and Frank. She had been ill over a long period of time.

Funeral services were held at nine a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Fr. J. A. Biegler officiating. Interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Kessler was born to Agnes and Barney Henken on *May 22nd, 1866, at Glendorf, Ohio. She was married to Carl Ludwig Kessler, she and her husband coming to the town of Weston in 1911. Mr. Kessler died on the 22nd day of August, 1936.

She was the mother of eight children six of whom survive, namely: John and Frank, Weston; Louise, Mrs. Frank Miller, and Carl, Pine Valley; Leona, Mrs. Baltz Hoesly, Jefferson, and Ione, Mrs. Henry Andraschka, Weyawega. Mary, Mrs. John Fordebrock, and Tracey, Mrs. Ben Albert, have passed away. She is survived also by two brothers, Will and Frank Henkrn, and a sister, Mrs. Tracey Klave, Ossian, Iowa.

She is survived also by two brothers, Will and Frank Hanken, and a sister, Mrs. Theressa Kleve, Ossian, Iowa.

At the funeral on Saturday, namely only those who came from a distance were: Mrs. B. Kleve, and Mrs. Arnold Kleve, Ossian, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. William Hanken, Oelwein, Ia.; Mrs. Albert Mahnke and Mrs. Henry Dralle, Greene, Ia.; Mrs. Eugene Broihier, Calmas, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schmidts, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Winthold, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bushman and Ben Elpert, all of Festina, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. William Houdek, Fort Atkinson, Ia., and Ed. Hinker, Greenwood. Two grandsons who are in the armed forces could not attend: Clarence Miller, San Diego, Cal.; and Paul Elpert, Ft. Bliss, Texas.
