Deutschlander, Alma (3 SEP 1939)

Rev. F.H. Sprengler of Thorp joined in the holy bonds of matrimony, Mr. Jerry Slovacek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Slovacek of Chicago, and Miss Alma Deutschlander, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Deutschlander of the town of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), in a ceremony performed at eleven o’clock Sunday morning at the Epiphany Ev. Lutheran Church at Stanley.

The couple was attended by Emil Deutschlander of Thorp and Helen Orczyk of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Kudingo, Thorp; and Josephine Bona and Elmer Slovacek of Chicago. Matron of honor was the groom’s sister, Mrs. Marie Duraz of Chicago, who wore a white chiffon crepe dress with medium pink accessories and carried a colonial bouquet of pink roses and baby breath.

The bride wore a beautiful flesh pink gown with a four yard train of skinned satin. Her veil was of pink tulle, ginger tip length. She wore a crown of two artificial pink gardenias, and her bouquet was of light pink rose buds and lilies of the valley. She was given in marriage by her father.

The bridesmaids were attired in white triple sheer crepe with blush pink accessories and each carried colonial style bouquet of dark pink roses.

A reception and festivities throughout the day were held at the home of the bride’s parents north of Thorp. The Courier joins in tendering best wishes of friends of the newlyweds.

They will reside in Chicago.
