Grambort, Mr./Mrs. Fred (50th Anniv. - 11 Aug. 1940)

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grambort of Colby, Wisconsin celebrated their 50th or golden wedding anniversary at Wiedenhoeft’s park Sunday afternoon. A six o’clock dinner was served relatives and members of their card club after which dancing was enjoyed.

Mr. Grambort was born in Sheboygan County on August 1st, 1865, and came to Colby in 1875. He and Mrs. Grambort were married in Colby in 1890 by Rev. Fiehler.

Mrs. Grambort was born June 17, 1873, in Milwaukee county and moved to Colby in 1876.

Mr. and Mrs. Grambort operated the farms that are now the William Tesmer and Herman Singstock farms for a number of years and was also manager of the Colby box factory for several years. Mr. Grambort started in the cattle business forty years ago while on the farm. Mr. and Mrs. Grambort and family moved to the city of Colby in 1902.

They have eleven children - Malena Grambort of Chicago, Mrs. E. W. Doyle of Chicago, Fred Grambort of Chicago, Edna Grambort of Chicago, Mrs. A. F. Lidman of Chicago, Hubert Grambort of Colby, Walter Grambort of Abbotsford, Wis., Gilbert Grambort of Colby, Everett Grambort of Michigan, Mrs. Lester Guetschow of Colby, Wis.

Out of town relatives here for the celebration were Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Doyle of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Lidman of Chicago, Fred Grambort of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Grambort of Michigan, Edwin Grambort of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Waschow of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Grambort of Abbotstford.
