Baumgarten, William (2 Sept. 1861 - 15 Oct. 1940)

William Baumgarten passed away Tuesday morning, Oct. 15, at the home of his son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Rannow. He had been ill with bladder trouble for several years and heart trouble for several days. Funeral services will be held at the Lulloff Funeral Home Friday afternoon, Rev. O. Hoffman officiating.

The deceased was born in Henderson, Minn., on Sept. 2, 1861, and was married to Elvina Hofs on Nov. 18, 1890. They engaged in farming in Minnesota. In 1920, they moved to Medford where he worked in the saw mill and veneer factory for about ten years and then moved to Minnesota where they lived with a son for two years. The past seven years, the deceased made his home with his son in law and daughter in Colby, Wis.

Surviving are four sons and two daughters - Ernest Baumgarten of Hutchinson, Minn., Rudolph Baumgarten of Olivia, Minn., Alex Baumgarten of Minot, N.D., Alfred Baumgarten of Glencoe, Minn., Mrs. Otto Rannow and Hazel Baumgarten of Colby, Wis. Also two sisters, Mrs. August Abent and Mrs. Fred Stuber of Buffalo Lake, Minn., and fourteen grand children.

Funeral services for William Baumgarten of Colby, whose death was reported last week, were held Friday afternoon at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, Rev. O. H. Hoffmann, pastor of the Zion Ev. Lutheran church officiating, and burial was made in the Evergreen cemetery at Medford. Pall bearers were Ed. Witte, Gust Franz, George Tesmer, William Schmidt, Charles Allmann and H. J. Wiedenhoeft.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Baumgarten of Hutchinson, Minn., Alfred Baumgarten of Glencoe, Minn., and Rudolph Baumgarten of Olivia, Minn.
