Blunck, Ruth V. (24 JUN 1939)

The Danish Lutheran Church at Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) was the setting for the wedding of Miss Ruth V. Blunck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Blunck of Withee, and Russell V. Haire of Minneapolis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Haire of Withee, Wis. The Rev. Mr. Holst officiated at the ceremony which took place Saturday evening at 7:30 o’clock.

Miss Mildred Billington was the bridesmaid and Erling Jensen served as best man.

White net and panel lace fashioned the bridal gown and its train, worn with a veil of fingertip length. The bride’s bouquet combined tea roses with sweet peas. Her bridesmaid wore pale blue organdy and carried roses.

About 150 guests attended the wedding and the reception which followed at Dana hall, appropriately decorated for the occasion with white wedding bells and cut flowers in pink and white.

Later Mr. and Mrs. Haire left on a few days’ wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Minnesota, after which they will make their home in Minneapolis where the groom is employed by the Bennet and Bailey Lumber Co.

Those from away who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. I. Gilberston, Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Baker and Johnnie Sullivan of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Christensen and daughter, Loyal; Irene Bartz and cousins of Granton; Jim Blunck, the bride’s brother, and Bob Rossman of La Crosse.
