Free, Mary (25 NOV 1939)

A simple and quiet wedding service performed in the early evening on Saturday, Nov. 25, 1939, in the parsonage of the Presbyterian Church at Jackson, Mich., united Miss Mary Free of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and Jack M. Gibbs Jr. of Jackson, in the holy bonds of matrimony. The Rt. Rev. Winter of the parish at Jackson officiated at the service.

The couple were attended by Miss June Gibbs, sister of the groom, as bridesmaid, and Mack McConochie as best man.

Miss Free, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.P. Free of Withee, si a young lady well known in this community. She is a graduate of the Withee High School with the class of 1937, of which she was valedictorian. She is also a graduate of the Eau Claire Beauty College. In 1936 Miss Free received state-wide recognition when she place second at the Wis. State Fair at Milwaukee in the Dairy Queen contest.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Gibbs of Jackson, Mich., and is employed by the Abrams Aerial Survey Corp.

Friends of the newlyweds and the Owen Enterprise join iin their wishes for a happy and prosperous wedded life.
