Korntved, Leonard G. (1919 - 30 NOV 1939)

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon from the Griebenow-Weirich Funeral Parlors for Leonard George Korntved, age 20, who was the victim of a hunting accident. Rev. J.H. Rostad officiated at the service. Interment was made in the family lot in the Lutheran Cemetery at Curtiss, Wis.

The fatal accident happened a week ago Thursday morning after he had left the farm home of his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Charles McCarthy of Redville, with whom he was making his home. When he failed to return that evening searching parties sought his whereabouts. Two days later they found his body in the woods north of Redville.

The coroner’s investigation found the youth’s death to have come about from an accidental discharge of his gun, which caused his death.

Leonard leaves to mourn his tragic death, his father, George of Abbotsford; three brothers, two sisters and his aunt and uncle with whom he was living.
