Nimm, John A. (20 Feb. 1866 - 27 Feb. 1942)

John A. Nimm, age 76, who came to Unity from Arpin four years ago, died at 2:30 o’clock Friday morning at the Marshfield hospital where he had been a patient since Jan. 16th. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Cooperative Funeral home in Marshfield, Rev. O. Hoffmann, pastor of the Zion Ev. Lutheran church in Colby officiating, and burial was made at Arpin where the deceased lived from 1888 to 1938.

Mr. Nimm was born in Watertown on Feb. 20, 1866, and married his third wife, Barbara Speick of Rockford, Ill., in 1913. Since living in Unity, Mr. Nimm had retired.

Surviving besides his wife are three children by his first marriage, Mrs. Steve Hoard of Fond du Lac, Mrs. Louis Zebrowski of Milwaukee; Sister M. Barbara in a Milwaukee convent; two sons by his second marriage, Edwin of Unity and Andrew of Delavan; six children by his third marriage, John, Jr., Lillian and Minnie, all of Rockford, Ill., Mrs. Chris Jacons of Arpin and Pvts. Franklin and Louis in the U.S. army. Also two brothers, Joseph and Nick, both of Watertown, and three sisters, Mrs. Madge Schimmelhorn of Milwaukee and Mrs. Clara Wells of Tennessee and another in Racine. Two sons by his first marriage, Frank and Timothy, preceded him in death. The latter was killed in World War I.
