Curtiss News

Wm. Zuelke, student at the Uni. of Wis., spent the week-end with his family at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kraut.

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Larry Klein of Midway on Sat., Feb. 28, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

John Erickson, Chicago, and Ethel Erickson, Eau Claire, spent the week end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Erickson.

Albert Klessig of Rib Lake visited friends and relatives here Sunday.

Mrs. Arthur Thompson spent the week-end with Miss Anna B. Hanson at Wausau, Wis.

Lester Smiley of Eau Claire spent the week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Smiley.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Rahn and Mrs. Emery Neitzel went to Chippewa Falls on Thursday to be with their mother, Mrs. Albert Barlow, who was operated on that day at the hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Laabs and son of Abbotsford spent Sunday afternoon at the home of the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Laabs.

The Luther League will meet on Friday evening, March 6th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Peterson.

Miss Bertha Kraut was hostess to her bridge club on Saturday afternoon. High scores were held by Mrs. Albert Smith and Mrs. Frank Matthias.

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond, Machlett, of Neillsville, called at the Fred Machlett home on Sunday afternoon.

A large number of cases of mumps are reported among the pupils of the local schools.

Mrs. Henry Peterson has spent the past two weeks at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Klessig, Colby, caring for Mrs. Klessig and infant daughter born on Feb. 20th.

Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hoff were Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Pueschner of Medford and Joe Hoff of Abbotsford, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Laabs, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Laabs and son and F. W. Laabs spent Sunday with the latter’s daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. George Pease at St. Croix Falls. On their return they visited for the evening with Rev. and Mrs. W. L. Anderson and family at Prairie Farm.
