Walker, Charles Clinton (11 June 1897 - 27 March 1943)

Charles Clinton Walker, 46, died at the Veteran’s hospital, Madison, at 5:04 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 1943, of pneumonia and heart complications.

He was born to Charles and Mamie (Lynch) Walker, June 11, 1897, at North Adams, Mass., coming to Clark County with his parents about the time World War No 1 was declared, settling on a 40-acre farm in the town of Seif, which Mrs. Walker owned.

The body was brought to the Schiller-Terhune Funeral Home Tuesday morning, private services being held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, Father J. A. Biegler conducting the rites. The body was interred in the Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Walker was a graduate of St. John’s Prep. school. He entered the U. S. Service at the opening of the First World War, his physical condition being badly impaired during that conflict, never having been restored to normal health.

His sister, (Katherine) Mrs. Harry Williams, and her daughter, Mary Joe, River Forest, Ill., were here for the rites.
