Orth, Ermine (Marriage - 12 Oct. 1946)

The rectory of St. Bernard’s Catholic church at Abbotsford was the scene of the wedding ceremony at which Roy N. Singstock, son of Wm. Singstock of Colby, and Ermine Orth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Orth of Abbotsford, exchanged nuptial vows, Saturday, Oct. 12, at 10 a.m. The day was also the birthday anniversary of the bride’s mother. The Rev. Francis Brockman read the double ring service.

The bride’s gown was designed with an entrained net over satin skirt. The satin bodice featured a sweetheart neckline and long sleeves coming to points over the wrists. A headdress of seed pearls held her long veil of illusion and her pearl necklace was a gift from the groom. She carried a shower bouquet of deep pink roses and mums.

Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Orth of Colby, brother and sister in law of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. George Roth of Unity, cousins of the bride. Both of the attendants’ dresses were styled alike of net over taffeta and designed with flaring hipline peplums and long full skirts. Mrs. Orth wore pink and Mrs. Roth chose blue. Matching head dresses completed their attire and they had wrist corsages of roses and mums. Mrs. Orth, the bride’s mother, wore a black crepe dress and corsage of flowers.

After the ceremony, luncheon was served to the bridal party at the Orth home, where later a reception was held and supper was served to 30 guests. Pink, blue and white streamers canopied the ceiling and bouquets of garden flowers decorated the residence of a three-tier wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom ornament and flanked with candelabra, centered the table. A dance was held at Walter’s pavilion at Colby, Wis.

Mrs. Singstock, a graduate of the Abbotsford, Wis. High School with the class of 1943, has been employed for the past two years in Milwaukee. The groom is engaged in farming near Colby where they will reside when they return from a wedding trip spent in the southern part of the state.

Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kugel and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Zarnke of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Orth and family of Owen, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bramucker of Medford.
