Westberg, Delores (Marriage - 2 July 1945)

Miss Delores Westberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schwantes of Colby, Wisconsin and Lester Bruesewitz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bruesewitz of Spencer, exchanged marriage vows in a wedding ceremony at the home at 2:00 P.M., July 2nd, Rev. Heinz officiating.

The bride wore a white ninon frock made with a sweetheart neckline, full length sleeves, and a gathered skirt. Lace trimmed her finger-tip veil of illusion caught to a rhinestone tiara, and she carried calla lilies, roses and swansonia. Her gold heart-shaped locket was a gift of the groom.

The matron of honor, Mrs. Erland Westberg, sister in law of the bride, wore a blue net and lace frock and Miss Grace Baronsky, bridesmaid, was attired in a similar dress in pink. Both wore matching blusher veils and corsages of roses and carnations.

Erland Westberg was best man and Donald Bruesewitz, a brother of the groom, served as groomsman.

Thirty guests were served dinner after the ceremony. Decorations were carried out in white, pink and blue streamers and wedding bells. Mrs. William Williamson, and Mrs. Anton Korntved, Unity, cooked the dinner and Anola and Jean Tews served. The table was centered with a large wedding cake topped with a miniature ornament of a bride and groom, and flanked with bowls of red roses. That evening a wedding dance was held in the Spencer hall.

Following a brief honeymoon to northern Wisconsin the couple will be at home to friends on the groom’s farm on route 1 near Spencer, Wis. Mrs. Bruesewitz, who was graduated from the Colby, Wis. High School with the class of 1938, had been employed in Chicago.

Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bruesewitz, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Tews and family and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Schultz of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Schmidt of Rozellville, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Viegut and family of Athens, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Westberg of Colby and C. F. Holmes of Chicago.
