Kalepp, Alice (Marriage - 11 Aug. 1945)

Miss Alice Kalepp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Kalepp of Abbotsford, became the bride of Cpl. Gilbert Kattre of Fort Denning, Ga., at a ceremony performed by Rev. John Brandt of Dorchester at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran church, Abbotsford, at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 11th. Inez Gust was the organist and Melvin Boelke the soloist. Baskets of gladiolas decorated the altar for the occasion.

For her wedding the bride wore white net over a satin skirt and train, the gown having a satin bodice with net yoke. The long sleeves ended in points over the wrists, and her fingertip veil fell from a beaded headdress. She wore a single strand of pearls and carried a shower bouquet of red roses with white carnations and streamers of sweet peas.

Mrs. Norman Kalepp, the matron of honor, was attired in pink marquisette over satin gown with a matching headdress and veil. Miss Lenore Barry, the bridesmaid, had a gown of yellow net over satin skirt and satin bodice. Her headdress and veil also matched and both attendants had elbow-length gloves and wrist corsages.

The groom’s attendants were Lester Kattre, as best man, and Charles Brown of Loyal.

The bride’s mother wore a navy blue dress with matching accessories, and the bridegroom’s mother had a flowered dress with white accessories. Both had corsages of roses.

Sixty guests attended the wedding and reception at the home of the bride’s parents at 5:30 p.m., and that evening a wedding dance was held at Wiedenhoeft’s Pavilion at Colby, Wis.

Out of town guests at the wedding were Ed Kattre and Melvin Wentworth of Plymouth, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Kattre of Chippewa Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Max Heintz of Cherokee, Mr. and Mrs. Al Sauter, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sauter and Mr. and Mrs. August Sauter of Dorchester, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Marcotte and Mr. and Mrs. George Kayino of Phillips, Mr. and Mrs. William Kuehl of Marshfield and Mr. and Mrs. M.
