Loos, Marcella (Marriage - 20 Oct. 1945)

Miss Marcella Loos, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. Loos, and Herbert Sauer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Sauer of Medford, Wis., were united in marriage at a ceremony read by Rev. N. Beschta at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby Saturday morning, Oct. 20, 1945. Miss Dominec Zicco, sister of the groom, was matron of honor and Miss Frances Sauer, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by his brother, Alvin Sauer, of Milwaukee.

The bride was attired in a gown of white satin with fitted bodice and full ninon skirt with a sweeping train, finger tip veil of illusion in lace with a beaded crown headdress. Her shower bouquet consisted of white chrysanthemums. The maid of honor wore an aqua moiré taffeta gown with bodice top, full skirt and matching gloves and slippers. The bridesmaid wore a fuchsia colored gown, similar to the matron of honor’s, with matching gloves and slippers. Brown velvet chokers with heart shaped lockets made up the neck pieces. Bracelets and ear rings to match, gifts of the bride, were worn. Corsages were made up of white and bronze baby mums. Rosaries were carried. The bride’s mother and the groom’s mother were dressed in navy blue and their corsages consisted of white and lavender baby mums.

A reception was given at the home of the bride which was nicely decorated with white, aqua and fuchsia colored streamers.

The couple will make their home on a farm at Medford, Wis.

Out of town people present at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Fisher and son of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Sauer, Mr. and Mrs. Felix Sauer and children, Mrs. Erwin Merkel, Louis Komzak and Paul Wisneski of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Werner, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mertens, son, Lawrence, on three day furlough, and Alvin Guth, of Dorchester, Mrs. Joseph Kaiser, Isabelle Kaiser, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Krohn and family, Anna Marie Krohn and Mrs. Edward Allmann of Wausau, Mrs. Robert Riemer, Grace Lindner and Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Riemer of Athens, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Art Van Slett of Unity, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Sauer and daughter, Frances, Mrs. Dominec Zicco, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Penstein and family, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Resech, Mrs. Anna Bost and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sauer, Sr., of Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Voelker and family and Mr. and Mrs. M. Morrow and family of Spencer and Mr. and Mrs. Roland Voelker of Abbotsford, Wis.
