Benzschawel, Celia (4 JUN 1940)

A very pretty June wedding took place Tuesday, June 4th, 1940, when Celia Benzschawel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Benzschawel, became the bride of Peter Moszkiewicz, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Moszkiewicz. The ceremony took place at the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church at 8:30, Rev. Muckerheide officiating.

The bride was beautifully attired in a gown of white satin and a long net veil trimmed with sprays of myrtle. Her veil was held in place with a net crown and circular blusher. She carried a bouquet of roses, carnations and sweet peas. The groom and his brother, Stanley, the best man, wore oxford grey suits.

The bridesmaid, Miss Bernice Benzschawel, sister of the bride, wore a pink gown with a full net skirt and waist of embossed marquisette. Her head piece was a circular veil of pink net held in place with a band of contrasting flowers. She carried a pink bouquet of flowers similar to those of the bride.

Donna Sydijko, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a gown of blue net over satin and carried a basket of mixed spring flowers.

A wedding breakfast was served to the bridal party at the home of the bride’s parents. Dinner and supper was served to a large host of relatives and friends.
