Slupski, Roscella (29 JUN 1940)

The end of June saw a beautiful wedding solemnized at the St. Hedwig’s Church at Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) at 10 a.m. Saturday when Roscella Slupski, daughter of Verona Slupski of Thorp, became the bride of Albin Berdal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Berdal of Edson.

Attendants were Janet Gnazdo of Chicago, friend of the bride, and Walter Berdal, Cadott attorney, and brother of the groom. The bridesmaids were Helen Czubakowski of Thorp, Della Maslanka of Chicago and Irene Berdal, sister of the groom, of Edson. Ushers were Lawrence Berdal, brother of the groom of Edson, Richard Slupski of Chicago, cousin of the bride, and Joseph Rygiel of Chippewa Falls.

The bride wore a marquisette gown with a train, a fingertip veil with a pearl headband and carried a spray of roses and carnations. The bridesmaids wore blue marquisette (Gone With the Wind) dresses with blue turbans and carried roses, carnations and Larkspur.

The bride was given away by Louis Dymek, her uncle.

The groom, attendants, and ushers were dressed in summer formals.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the bride’s home. About two hundred guests attended. Among the out of town guests were the Misses Jerry Jarosz, Bernice Golab, Louise Simon, Stella Kall, John Kloski, Mr. and Mrs. John Dulek, Mr. and Mrs. Florian Janis, Miss Helen and Stella Jaskot, Miss Lillian Czubakowski, all of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson, Mr. White and Mrs. Frank Rygiel of Chippewa Falls.

The bride and groom will make their home in Chicago. They have a host of friends who wish them success and happiness in their new venture.
