Melvin E. Mech

w/flag Melvin E. Mech, 85, Wausau, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau.

He served in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy. Melvin was an insurance salesman for 20 years and was a dairy products inspector for the USDA until his retirement in 1994.

Survivors include his son, William (Diane) Mech, Milwaukee; a daughter, Helen (Thomas) Seipel, Sun Prairie; daughter-in-law, Trudy Mech, Williamsburg, N.M.; two brothers, Vernon Mech, Greenwood, and Robert (Ethel) Mech, Kenosha; a brother-in-law, Arvid Berger, Neillsville; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be at noon Saturday at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, Wis. Burial will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery with military rites by the Neillsville Veterans Council.
