Marquardt, Charles (1837? - 19 Apr. 1886)

Charles Marquardt, who so long presided over the destinies of the post office at Wien, died last Monday evening. Charley was a victim of that dread disease, consumption, and his demise has long been expected yet it comes suddenly. Everybody who knew him liked him and he has long been the life of the Wien settlement. The PHONOGRAPH tenders its heartiest sympathy to the bereaved family.

The death of Charley Marquardt leaves Wien without a postmaster and the people are offering a bonus for someone to take the position.
