Scheel, Betty K. (September 18, 1949 - December 4, 2007)

Betty K. Scheel, age 58, of Granton, died on Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at the home of her son in City Point.

Betty was born Sept. 18, 1949 at Granton to Robert and Catherine (Netzer) Schlinsog. She graduated from Granton High School in 1968. She married Robert C. Scheel on November 16, 1968 at Zion Lutheran Church, Granton.

Robert and Betty farmed at Granton from 1968 to 2000. Betty then worked for six years at Neillsville Memorial Home as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Betty was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.

Betty is survived by her husband, Robert C. Scheel of City Point, and eight children: Robert Jr. (Toni) Scheel, of Pittsville; Kreg Scheel, of Granton; Tracy (Donald) Much, of Loyal; Trudy (Jim) Mitchell, of Humbird; Tony (Melissa Frederick) Scheel, of Marshfield; Jason (Beth Salberry) Scheel, of Marshfield; Kyle Scheel, of Marshfield; and Amanda (Jacob Salzwedel), of Marshfield.

Betty is also survived by her mother, Catherine Schlinsog, of Neillsville, and 11 grandchildren: Arie, Addison, Riley, Renea, Tyler, Jasmine, Misty, Brooke, Jessie, Andy and Trevor.

Betty was preceded in death by her father, Robert Schlinsog, and one brother, Kip Schlinsog.

Funeral services for Betty were held on Saturday, December 8, 2007, at Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville, Wis. Rev. Fred Parker Jr. officiated. Arie Scheel and Angela McFarlane sang a duet. Burial was in Windfall Cemetery, Granton. Betty’s sons, Robert, Kreg, Tony, Jason, Kyle, and her good friend, Roger Salzwedel, served as pallbearers.
