Schuette, Irene (Marriage - 31 Aug. 1946)

Miss Irene Schuette of Unity, Wis., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schuette, and Wayne Olson of Curtiss, son of Mrs. Emma Skinner of Bloomington, Wis., exchanged marriage vows at St. Luke’s Lutheran church, South Green Grove, on Saturday, August 31, at 2:00 P.M., Rev. M. C. Goetsch officiating at the double ring candlelight ceremony. Mrs. M. C. Goetsch played the wedding march. Miss Romana Johnson, accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Jacob Johnson, sang, "Be Thou Our Guide" and "Till the End of Time." The couple was attended by Blanche Schuette, sister of the bride, and Franklin Zimmermann. The church was decorated with white and fuchsia streamers and baskets of flowers.

The bride was attired in a dress of white satin, long train, sweetheart neckline and pointed sleeves. Her headdress was a white beaded pearl crown with fingertip veil with lace trim. Her bouquet consisted of white lilies and sweet peas with forget-me-nots on streamers. The bridesmaid wore a dress of white nylon chiffon with sprays of fuchsia colored flowers in skirt. Her bouquet consisted of lace flowers and sweet peas.

Supper was served fifty guests at the home of the bride’s parents. The dining room was decorated with white fuchsia streamers and a three-tier wedding cake was placed in the center of the table.

The bride is a graduate of Colby, Wis. High School and Eau Claire Vocational School and is employed as clerk at the Curtiss State Bank. She will continue her position at the bank. The groom is a graduate of the Owen High School and is engaged in farming. He recently returned from three years of service overseas. The couple will make their home on the groom’s farm at Curtiss, Wis.

Guests from away attending the reception and supper were Mr. and Mrs. George Schuette and Ellen, of Genoa City, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wilke and Laddie Fiola, of Kewaunee, Wis., Mrs. Emma Skinner of Bloomington, Wis., Mrs. Leon Ankey, and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hartzell of Cornell, Wis.
