Curtiss, Wis. - June 6, 1946

Gaylen Voskini of Baldwin, Wis., spent the week-end at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Minnie Green.

Miss Helen Lorentzen of Woodville spent the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Laabs.

Miss Elaine Jakel finished teaching the school-year at Phillips High School and left on Saturday for Madison to enroll in the long summer session at the University of Wisconsin.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Zuelke and daughter, Pamela, of Madison spent the Memorial Day week-end with her mother, Mrs. Ida Kraut, and family.

Miss Ethel Erickson returned to Minneapolis on Monday after having spent the Memorial week-end at home.

Leroy and Bertnam Vegehlen of LaCrosse spent Memorial Day with their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Erickson.

Melvin and Louis Arneson of Minneapolis called on friends here on Memorial Day.

Miss Merle Weiburg of Ogema was a week-end guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Peterson.

Mrs. Wm. Jakel will be hostess to St. Paul’s Lutheran Ladies’ Aid on Wednesday, June 12th.

Mrs. Paul White and son, who have been living in the east while her husband was in service are now visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Fahrenbach.

Mrs. Jas. Skinner of Bloomington, Wis., is visiting her son, Wayne Olson, and daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Chet Leu.

Misses Evelyn Fahrenbach and Loraine Jakel, who taught at Edgar, arrived home last week for the summer.

Mr. and Mrs. Ole Gilbertson and son, Roger, of Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Engman Gilbertson and daughters, Marjorie and Janet, of Van Dyne, Howard Gilbertson and Loretta Peterson of Withee, visited at the Martha Harmel home Sunday evening.

Miss Anna B. Hanson, teacher in Wausau Junior High School, arrived here to spend the summer with her sister and brother in law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Machlett.

Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Hanson of Bremmerton, Wash., are visiting his sister, Mrs. Cornell Erickson, and family and other relatives here this week.

James Mowery, who served overseas with the army of occupation the past 18 months, has been discharged from service at Ft. Sheridan, and returned home on Sunday. He is now with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Mowery.

Henry Hermanson left on Friday for Plymouth, Ind., where he will attend a short summer school session and begin his duties as agriculture teacher in the high school on July 1st.

Halver Gilbertson of Chicago spent the week-end with his mother, Mrs. Mattie Gilbertson, and sister, Mrs. Martha Harmel.

Mrs. Frank Kraut spent the fore part of the week with friends at Ashland.
