Alexander, Jean M. (Marriage - 1 Oct. 1947)

Jean M. Alexander, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Alexander of Abbotsford, and Alphonse R. Weix, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Weix of Colby, were united in marriage on Wednesday, October 1st, at 9:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic church at Colby, Wisconsin. Miss Alice Alexander, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Mrs. Frank Carpenter, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Myron Beck as best man and Frank Carpenter as groomsman.

The bride was attired in a gown of lace marquisette with short puffed sleeves, finger-tip veil with lace edge. For jewelry, she wore a pair of pearls. Her bouquet consisted of gladiolas and yellow roses with matching streamers. The maid of honor wore a dress of blue marquisette, full skirt, elbow length sleeves and blue veil. Her bouquet consisted of carnations with blue and pink streamers to match. The bridesmaid wore a dress of pink, net skirt, three-quarter length sleeves and pink veil. Her bouquet was similar to that of the maid of honor.

Breakfast was served at the home of the bride. Dinner and supper was served relatives and guests at the home of the groom’s parents. Home decorations consisted of white, pink and blue streamers. A wedding dance was given at Walter’s pavilion.

The couple will make their home at Colby where both the bride and the groom are employed by Clark Mills, Inc.
