Colwell, Donald A. Sr. (1920 - January 13, 2008)

Donald A. Colwell Sr., age 87, of Neillsville, Wisconsin, died on Sunday, January 13, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Private family services are being planned at this time.

The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting Donald’s family with arrangements.

Colwell, Donald A., Sr (4 February 1920 - 13 January 2008)

Donald A. Colwell Sr., 87, of Neillsville passed away January 13, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield.

Donald was born February 4, 1920, in the Town of Albion, Jackson County, on the Colwell Family farm to Earl and Mary Colwell. He was married to Elizabeth Ann Lawler January 18, 1947, at St. Rose Church in Racine, WI. Donald worked at J. I. Case Southworks as a machinist for 34 years until he retired in 1976 to pursue farming in the Neillsville area until his passing.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years; his parents; two sisters, Pearl and Ila; and two brothers, Willard and Leslie.

Don is survived by two children, Don (Jeannie) Colwell and Thomas (Etta) Colwell, both of Neillsville; six grand-children, Brian (Becky), Sydney, Matthew, Thomas Jr., Patty and Diana; and six great-grandchildren, Allison and Elizabeth Colwell, Cheyann and Elexis Spuhler and Trevor and Zacharias Drinka.

A graveside service was held January 17, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Colwell Family Cemetery in Taylor, WI.
