Lingl, Joseph (17 Mar. 1882 - 26 June 1947)

Joseph Lingl died at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital last Thursday afternoon at 2:45 as the result of a stroke which he suffered a week ago. A rosary service was held at the Lulloff Funeral Home, where the body had been lying in state Sunday evening. Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby, Wis., Rev. A. P. Kraus officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Ed Keys of Spencer, Ed Becker, Harry Untiedt, Emil Untiedt, Tony Will and Frank Will.

The deceased was born March 17, 1882, in Wakunia, Minn., and a few years later, moved to Saskatchewan, Canada, with his family. He was married June 1, 1915, at Humboldt, Saskatchewan, to Luella Wendt who died in 1944. In 1920, the couple moved onto a farm near Neillsville and then moved to different farms near Greenwood and Colby, Wisconsin. In 1944, they moved onto a farm in the town of Colby where Mrs. Lingl died.

Surviving are three daughters and one son - Mrs. John Dahlke of Edgar, Mrs. Theo. Hoff of Spencer, Miss Velma Lingl at home and Thomas Lingl at home. Also surviving are four brothers and three sisters - Paul, John, Harry and Otto, all of Saskatchewan, Canada, Mrs. George Kipzinger of Saskatchewan, Mrs. Theresa Williams of the state of Washington and Mrs. June of the state of Oregon.
