Schelling, Mr./Mrs. C. W. (50th Anniv. - 26 Jan. 1948)

Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Schelling of Colby celebrated their fiftieth or golden wedding anniversary January 26th at their home. Guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Arland V. Stall of Oxfordville, Dr. and Mrs. W. W. Payne, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Habeck, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wiedenhoeft, Mrs. Emma Zillmer, Miss Rena Bauer, Mr. and Mrs. Noel Schilling and son, Dennis Charles.

A three course turkey dinner was served by their daughter in law, Mrs. Noel Schilling and her cousin, Mrs. Arthur Wiedenhoeft. The table was decorated with golden colors predominating. A beautiful center piece consisted of yellow chrysanthemums with tall, yellow tapers in the center, and shorter tapers at the ends of the table.

Many lovely gifts were received, of which one was a 22 carat gold tea set, presented by Mr. and Mrs. Arland V. Stall and son, Lyle. There were also gifts of cut flowers and plants which beautified the home.

Mr. and Mrs. Schelling were married at Beaman, Iowa. Thirty-six guests were at the wedding, of whom fourteen are living. One, Mr. Stall, an only brother of Mrs. Schelling, was present at the golden wedding.

Mr. and Mrs. Schelling have one son, Noel of Colby, and one grand child, Dennis Charles, 17 months old. Mr. Schelling has one brother, Ernest, of Brawelly, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. Mae Beechill of Eugene, Oregon.
