Hecker, Henry J. (24 Nov. 1884 - June 1948)

Funeral services for Henry J. Hecker, a native of Colby, Wisconsin, whose death was reported last week, were held Wednesday, June 9th, at the Stetter Funeral Home at Oshkosh. The body was then taken to Milwaukee where it was cremated.

Mr. Hecker, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hecker, was born in Colby, Wis., on Nov. 24, 1884. He moved with his parents to Oshkosh where he lived for 27 years. He was married to Miss Ethel Whisner on Jan. 13, 1921, at Menomonie, Mich. A butcher by trade, he was a member of the Oshkosh Local 86 Amalgamated Meat Cutters of North America. He had been ill for 23 years.

 

Surviving are his wife, two sisters, Mrs. C. P. Tessmer of Colby and Mrs. A. Kolitsch of Fond du Lac, several nieces and nephews and one uncle, Fred Lindner of Owen.

*Albert is buried in the Memorial Cemetery, Colby, Wis.

 

Albert began his life in Germany, 25 Jan 1852, but most of his 72 yrs. were spent in the United States.  He lived in Colby and was married to Minna Linder (1852-1932), in the heat of summer, 8 Aug 1875.  They became the parents of ten children: Pauline Hecker, 1876–1957; Amanda Hecker, 1878–1933; Clara Hecker, 1882–1892; Otto Frederic Hecker, 1884–?; Henry Hecker 1884–1948; Florence F. Hecker, 1887–?; Martha Friedericke Hecker, 1887–?; Hildegard Hecker, 1891–1909; Deah Hecker, 1893–?, Whitney Hecker; 1895–?
