Newmann, Albert J. (28 Sept. 1881 - 26 Aug. 1948)

Albert J. Newman of Curtiss, Rt. 1, died at the age of 66 years of cancer at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital on Thursday morning. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Rev. K. O. Crosby of St. Katherine’s Episcopal church officiating, and internment was made in the Riverside cemetery.

Mrs. Newman was born in Germany on Sept. 28, 1881, and received his education in Minneapolis and Glenwood City. He was married to Charlotte James August 25, 1907. For the past nine years he resided one and one-half miles west of Curtiss. At one time he farmed at Owen and also worked at the box factory there.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters and three sons - Mrs. Anna Long of Curtiss, Mrs. Myrtle Olson of Two Rivers, Ed of Owen, Howard of Withee and Harris of Marshfield. Also a brother, George Newman of Glenwood City, five sisters, Mrs. Ida Hansen and Mrs. Lena Cunningham of Minneapolis and Mrs. Rose Monson, Mrs. Emma Swartz and Mrs. Minnie Tigan of Glenwood City; 28 grand children and three great grand children. His parents, a son, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
