Langjahr, Elmer (26 July 1895 - 25 Sept. 1948)

Elmer Langjahr died at his home at Unity Saturday morning at the age of 53 years after a long illness, cancer being the cause of his death. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. F. J. Smith officiating.

The deceased was born in Kiel, Wis., on July 26, 1895, and was married to Miss Pearl Draper at Rockford, Ill., on Dec. 3, 1923. After moving to Unity in 1925, he became a mail messenger and held the position until his death. He was also caretaker of the depot for 12 years. He served in World War I for 14 months and was a member of the American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, one brother, Arvin, and a niece, Mrs. Leslea Purner, all of Unity. Two brothers preceded him in death.
