Kuehn, Arlene G. (July 19, 1933 - January 23, 2008)

Arlene G. Kuehn, age 74, of Granton, died at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville on Wednesday, January 23, 2008.

Arlene was born July 19, 1933 in Marshfield, to Benjamin and Anna (Nelson) Welch. She grew up in the Auburndale area and attended Auburndale High School. Arlene married Lester Kuehn, Sr. on March 29, 1952 in Auburndale. Lester was stationed in Panama where they lived in 1953. They later resided in Granton. Arlene worked at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital as a Nursing Assistant, then at Weyerhaeuser in Marshfield and for more than 28 years at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory in Marshfield.

Arlene was also a homemaker and loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her friends. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, sewing, fishing camping and playing cards.

Arlene was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church, Granton.

Arlene resided at the Memorial Home in Neillsville since August of 2000.

She is survived by her six children, Rick Kuehn, Granton; Deb Dankemeyer, Granton; Bonnie (Jerome) Jordan, Granton; Jeanette (Dennis) Bartsch, Loyal; Lester (Theresa) Kuehn, Jr., Granton; and Karen (William) Ress, Spencer; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Kuehn, Sr. in 1992; her parents; two sons in infancy; nine brothers and sisters; and one granddaughter, Dawn Moen.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville. Pastor Joe Wiers officiated. Burial was in Zion American Lutheran Cemetery, Granton.

Buchanan Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
