Thompson, Oscar (7 Nov. 1883 - 29 Mar. 1952)

Oscar Thompson, a former resident of Curtiss, died in Los Angeles, Calif., Saturday at the age of 68 years. Funeral services were held in Glendale, Calif. Monday afternoon and burial was made in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Thompson was born on November 7, 1883, in Curtiss. After his graduation from Colby High School, he accepted a position in the U.S. Treasury in Washington, D.C. While he was employed there for eight years, he also studied at George Washington University. After his graduation, he was appointed national bank examiner for the California district with an office in Los Angeles. In 1912, he was made vice president of the Security First National Bank of Los Angeles. He retired in 1941 because of poor health. He was unmarried.

Surviving are a brother, Arthur of Curtiss, and four sisters, Mrs. Frank Matthias and Mrs. E. M. Peterson of Curtiss, Mrs. Ida Peterson of Monrow, Wash., and Mrs. J. E. Simpson of Sturgeon Bay.
